Travelling to USA

This month I went on a work trip to our factory in North Carolina for a meeting to discuss a new software.

Looking on the news it seemed like a storm would come to that area at the same time I would travel but my colleagues said they knew nothing about it.

When the plane came in for landing the pilot had to abort the first attempt as it was too bad weather. After thinking we might had to go to another airport in the end the second attempt worked.

Getting through immigration took most of the time as only a few officers where working but in the end it was smooth. I didn't have to make any fingerprints this time, probably they had saved them from previous visits.

I was picked up by a colleague at the airport and she dropped my off at the hotel. where I stayed the first night. In the morning I visited the nearby Walmart to buy some food stuff to bring back to Sweden. I noticed all the meat produce was very expensive, more or less double what it cost here. In the end I bought quite a few barbecue sauces to try home.

The next day we had a very nice pizza before picking up another colleague and going to the hotel where we should be.

We ate that evening at a place called Texas Roadhouse, it was quite busy , as all the places we went to during the week so I wonder how the people can go out and eat so much.

We started the meeting in the factory but the bad weather reports continued. The next day we had to evacuate the factory as the city we were in had lots of flooding and the water plant became damaged. So we had to return to the hotel and make the remainder of our meeting there.

During the week we tried several restaurants. What I most preferred was some tacos at First Watch in the morning and some quesadillas that were a started at Drakes.

The italian food at Olive Garden had too much cream and very little taste.

On the friday I went home again via New York, it was a very tiring travel so when I came back home I slept for almost 15 hours.

This might have been my last work travel as I hope to retire next year and we are not allowed to travel much with cost restrictions going on. I was very well taken care of by the uS friendly colleagues.
